Madonna BEDTIME STORIES
CMYK 4-Color Separation Transparencies For Cover Art Promo Poster Flat!
This is an incredibly rare piece of original artwork.
Only a few of these ever existed (if not only this one).
1994 ORIGINAL US printer's 4-color separation transparencies used in the production of the BEDTIME STORIES promotional poster flat artwork.
Full dimensions are 14.5" x 14.5". Features 5 transparent/color sheets mounted to a white back card:
yellow, magenta (red). cyan (blue), black, and protective clear top layer sheet.
The final image also reveals the 'cut lines' which serve to show where the final printed product will be cropped. They also serve in aligning the transparencies during mounting over back card..
Condition: The white back sheet shows some discoloration due to age (18 years). A fresh white sheet of any paper material will serve the same purpose with maximum contrast. The 4 color sheets are in mint condition. The top protective layer has some fine lines from resting/rubbing along other artwork, mostly only visible in reflective light. Overall condition of this piece is EXCELLENT and the image it produces is brilliant and vivid, absolutely stunning!
In proper combination and alignment the 4 color transparencies combine to reveal a full color image far more brilliant than the printed paper production!

Technical notes about the color separation process (from wiki):
CMYK (from wiki):
The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black).
Cyan, magenta, and yellow are the three basic colors used for color reproduction. When these three colors are variously used in printing, the result should be a reasonable reproduction of the original, but in practice this is not the case. Due to limitations in the inks, the darker colors are dirty and muddied. To resolve this, a black separation is also created, which improves the shadow and contrast of the image. This printing technique is referred to as CMYK (the "K" stands for Key, a traditional word for the black printing plate).
This image shows the clear protective sheet, the black sheet, and the blue sheet partially lifted.
The red and yellow sheets remain flat on the white base.
This is a VERY RARE and unique item! Truly a centerpiece for any Madonna collection! It is possible that this is the only one to remain if not the only one ever made. You will not ever see another one like this offered again.
